I spend most of my time cruising in my Strat looking for data sites, relic sites, and wormholes. Well me and a couple corpies found us a nice C5 and went in for a bit of constructive raiding and general harassment should anyone be home. As we scanned the 9 or so sites it became obvious the WH had been raided for the easy stuff as there where only gas sites and three Sleeper data sites. They where the bigass ones that you can get capital escalations out of. Well two strats and an astero weren't going to kill the three sleeper battleships much less the following 5 or 6 spawns. Well then there's me. "You know what? I reckon I can warp in, slow boat to the most distant databank, decloak, hack it and run away before the sleepers see me". This was meet with, "Maayybeee", "You're going to die", and "how close can I warp in, I want to watch". So as I dropped out of warp and proceeded to boat to the opposite side of the area more guys logged in. When they asked what's going on they where greeted with "Nashs throwing away a Strat trying to steal from sleepers". This resulted in more of my mates warping in for the express purpose of seeing how fast the sleepers would take to aggress. Well, after a time I made it to said databank, and announced my decloak. Well in about 2 seconds I was targeted, which was also announced. "Warping out". I said, and the first salvo hit me. Well, my normally very fast and nimble Strat didn't align fast enough, and in fact it died so fast, I still had 40% armour when the kill mail arrived. That offended me a little bit. Well I warped off in my pod, my corpies laughed, said "faaarrrkkk". And declared they wouldn't be able to loot my wreck for me. I went and got my Zephyr and warped back to the wreck and looted my RSS probes back as a minimum. So the lesson is; you can steal databanks from under the noses of big sleeper battleships in a C5. Also, corpies will gather to watch you when you're determined to do something exciting and slightly dumb. It was a fun morning. You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.
